Getting to Know Us: the MendoFutures Operations Team
Professional Life: Miles Gordon is the Project Coordinator for The Gardens Project of North Coast Opportunities (NCO). As coordinator, Miles facilitates the development of community and school gardens throughout Mendocino County, as well as developing and expanding a Gardens Network of over 65 community and school gardens. As an active partner in the rebuilding of Mendocino County's Local Food System and increasing access to fresh produce, The Gardens Project of NCO also helps facilitate local farmer development, nutrition education, and the Farm-to-School movement in Mendocino County. Miles is also the garden teacher for the high school students at River School, working with at risk youth to excel in production and sales of produce at the MCOE Youth Enterprise Garden.
Community Life: Miles is the current Board President of Mendocino County ReLeaf - a volunteer organization that promotes community and urban forests. Additionally, Miles is an active Master Gardener of UC Cooperative Extension.
MendoFutures Life: Miles is a member of the Operational Management Team, as well as an organizer for Mendo Food Futures - applying MendoFutures principles through facilitation and development of the local food system. In addition Miles is part of the MendoFutures facilitation and consultation team, helping MendoFutures facilitators design facilitation strategies for community based, environmentally, economically and socially beneficial projects and organizations.
